Summary: This is based on a manga by Rumiko Takehashi. In Mukoda Gym, there is one boxer with exceptional talent and a strong right straight punch, who has the potential to be as strong as Oshiro, who was a 'Champion'. Unfortunately, he has a huge appetite, and absolutely no self restraint, so he always loses matches due to being forced into a weight class which he is not suitable for. He finally gets an amazing match, and has to make a desperate attempt to lose weight. The Kaichou forbids him from drinking even water, and on a run, he collapses (with much theatrics)

A nun, Sister Angela 'rescues' him and he falls in love with her. With all the enthusiasm of a elementary school kid, he declares his love for her and asks her to go out with him. If he wins a match, non the less. -__-'

Maybe the sister has feelings for him too? And CAN the 'Gutless Glutton' become a 'Champion'?

Review: What was reaaaally strange that the so called "Gutless Glutton" who continuously had to lose weight was played by Kame. I mean we ARE talking about Kame here. The guy who is so skinny he looks like might possibly collapse due to the weight of the clothes on his back ('Don't you ever stop' parody ...*snicker*) I mean, all of his opponents looked like they weighed less then he ever would. Ah well, what do I know about boxing anyway?

Although I have an Anti-Kame stand, I have to admit, he became more tolerable to me in this one. I mean there IS something very adorable about how he acts like an overgrown bratty little kid. Not annoyingly bratty. Just cutely bratty. (urgh I cannot have used cute and Kame in referance to each other. -__-') He is so childish, although he has cool moments as well, although I guess, they are mainly ruined (funnily) by him bringing up food suddenly.

This was very funny. From how the other boxers in Kousaku's gym acted, to the Mother Superiors wonderful plans and hints, and how Kaichou used Sister Angela as a "carrot in front of a horse" for Kousaku. I spent a great amount of time muttering 'Bakayarou' at Kousaku. He was just so adorably stupid. He seemed to get huge spurts of energy every single time he saw Sister Angela and got a word of encouragement from her. And he was specially talented at hiding and eating food, and managing to find ways to pig out.

Spoilers

I liked the fact, that in this drama, unlike other sports themed stories, it didn't end with an "everything is alright" note as the last match was over and he became the Japanese Champion. Even after he became the Champion with the power of his love (-__-'), he went all gloomy and depressed because their were still a lot of issues unresolved and yeah, there was the little issue that Sister Angela was missing.

I also liked how, in Kasumi-kun's situation, he didn't resort to boxing no matter how many people around him was doing it, and telling him to do so. He stood up to the bullying his own way (with a little help from the Kaichou). Although I guess he did take up boxing later at the very end, which would have kinda irked me, if not for how adorable Yamada Ryosuke looked with his hair pinned up while he was practicing. ^_^

All in all, it's a pretty good funny drama, and Kame fans are sure to love it, and even those of us immune to the Kame virus will no doubt get a good laugh from it.

Quotes:
Kousaku : Sister Angela! My next match has been decided!
If I win, please go steady with me! (He is saying this to a NUN -__-')
*Everyone present just sorta stares at him dumbstruck*

Kousaku: *smiles brightly* That's all I wanted to say!
So then, please excuse me.
*runs away happily*
Sister Millie: Insolent!
Mother Superior: Eh?
Sister Angela: *shocked*
Kousaku: *Runs back again enthusiastically* Sister!
It's a promise! A Promise!

Note: Yamada Ryosuke is SO adorable. He is totally and utterly glompable! Makes me want to turn him into a plushie! I also suspect he might be the next Yamapi. ^^;
