Genre: School Life, Teaching, Juvenile Delinquents, JDrama

Episodes: 12 + Gokusen Special

Summary: Yamuguchi Kumiko is the heir to a Yakuza family, but her dream is to become a teacher. However, if she is to become a teacher, she cannot afford anyone to find out about her family's business. She starts her life as a teacher in Shiroken high school, filled with hopes and anticipation.

She is stuck in class 3D, which is basically the class full of rejects and troublemakers, the utterly hopeless ones. And of course there is Sawada Shin (MatsuJun! Yay~), the "ring leader" who is extremely un-figure-out-able. However, she does not judge them based on there appearances, but truely accepts them and promises to see them all to their graduation through all kinds of troubles.

Review: Yankumi's character was perfect. It was utterly dorky and strange at times, then all cool when she switched to her fighting mode, ditching her rubber bands and her glasses.

I absolutely LOVED Yankumi's knack for appearing suddenly out of nowhere when the students are discussing stuff. And her little trick of tapping the shoulder and poking peoples cheeks was so cute too. And her theatrics, and all the sound effects while she moved and was talking and stuff.
The rest of the teachers were quite a bunch of characters as well.

But more importantly, Why is Oguri Shun so damn adorable? ~_~ And also, Matsumoto Jun is HOT in this one. I had to knock myself on the head a coupla times to actually REMIND myself that I am a Yamapi fangirl.

This is a drama with cheesy lines, useless actions, and totally contradictory lessons being taught in it. BUT it sure is funny, so who cares really? AND there is the added bonus of a very pretty Matsumoto Jun AND Oguri Shun, and that guy who looks like a cat.

Yankumi's character is also pretty lovable, and all the 3D guys end up being really good kids AT HEART so you like them, and the cheesiness kinda moves you too. Occasionally. So it's a pretty good drama, and it is kinda a classic in JDramas I think, so definitely worth a watch.

Music: "Feel Your Breeze" by V6 (A song which starts undoubtedly strangely. -__-')

Rating: 6/10

Quotes/Taglines:

Yankumi: Me? I am those guys homeroom teacher.
(mostly in response to being asked who she is after she beats people up)

Note: Speaking of "Teachers with unconventional teaching methods" drama's, I personally liked Great Teacher Onizuka better, even if there is more of an abundance of adorable guys here. Although I hear Dragon Zakura is pretty good too, and intend on checking it out. I have high hopes for it, since Fably says it's great AND there is Yamapi and other pretties in it ^_^ *oh ho ho ho ho*

Fabler: I was just going to comment on that. See, we ALL are thinking the same thing! MatsuJun's hair is probably the best thing in the drama. Um... I probably shouldn't say this, but Gokusen was kinda lame. Even annoying, especially when she goes, "Watashi? Watashi wa 'his homeroom' sensei desu." all the DAMN TIME.

Annoying, I tell you! But watching it is cool because the whole friends-helping-each-other make me go "aww" and get this touchy feeling. The whole "Yankumi" thing was cute, how they transformed and everything. It's nice! But I could only stand it for one series, I couldn't stand watching Gokusen 2, even if I really like Kame and Jin is hot and Teppei is sooo cute. My sanity wouldn't let me beyond 3 episodes.

Did you know L was in the class of 3D? LOL he looked really young.

OK, I just read your post properly and realised that I've forgotten a lot of goodness in it. Yankumi is cool. It's fun, Gokusen is...

6/10 agreed! But Shun isn't pretty.

Ohh, so it was not only my current irritable mood which made me think it was slightly erkish >_< truth to be told, this is the edited version in which i thought of and wrote of the good points after my frst review came out too negetive :P

and oguri shun is TOO pretty(although in a more manly way)! not as pretty as some people, but still pretty *nods*

+ points:
>JUN'S AWESOME PWEDDY HAIR!!! *swoons*
>SHIN KAWADA {I flailed a bit more when I realized his name: Shin meant 'Heart']
>Yankumi The Dork (^_^)b
>KUMA!!!! I think chubby cutes are cute so ignore me as I fangirl over him!
>That episode where Yankumi dresses up as a teenager and everyone's like "Bleh" Shun's expression's soooooooo cute!
>Overdramatic Principal... was awesome......damnitt... he needs more screen time.
>Yankumi going ninja in the staffroom.

- Points:
>The repetitive fights.
>The annoying grownups.
>TEH CHEESE! which made me cringe and at the same time cry.
>Only Yankumi to the rescue? I wanted Shin to save her more then once.
>Lack of romance on either sides despite the obvious 'signs'. Three ppl fought over her!!! and still she remains single???? What curse is this.

An OK Drama.... 6/10 is good enough. Did not liek Shun's hair! but it was better in the SP.

Like your review ^^
